Hi I’m Selena Clare and I’ve always wanted to be a site model. I’m 13 and I honestly hate labels (Scene, Emo, Goth, Gangster, etc.) because when someone asks me if I’m scene or emo, I reply “No I’m just me.” I believe to be “scene” you just have to be yourself. All those people who watch videos on youtube on “how to be scene” are simply just as good as posers. Like I said, just be yourself, and you find who you truly are. 🙂

Most of you know that quote on quote scenes arent that popular. Well in my opinion the only reason scenes get picked on is because we are different. We are different and people dont like us because they are to chicken to try and pull it off. If you want “scene” clothes you can basically turn almost anything into scene. All you have to do is basically clash different things. Try to get inspiration from a famous scene queen. My inspiration is AmbrehhisDead<3

What is scene style all about?
It’s all about being your self. Exspressing who you really are with fun colourful fashion. Don’t be afraid to show off your wild side and be you! Scene style consists of colourful jewlery, leggings/skinny jeans, band/gtaphic t-shirts….anything anything that exspresses you! Have fun with it :3

I lived in a place full of ‘gangsters’ and ‘preps’, so I know a bit about being called names and being put down.
The main thing to do, is to ignore all the things that you get told and know that there are hundreds out there who feel the same way.
Look at some of the more known “Scene Queens”, for example, Ambrehh is Dead, Emy Extasy, and Brookelle Bones, for inspiration. Being “scene” is not how you look or how you act, it’s making a statement. So many people stereotype “scene kids” to be conceded and mean, but thats soo not the goal.
What you wear is a big part, though. It shows people what you think with out using words.
A lot of things most scene kids lean towards are colorful extensions, or dying your hair different colors, though you can do with out. Colorful skinny jeans and boots, or heels, are great together. Not to mention, tutus and tiaras. I dont ever wear these things in public, but i love taking pictures with them. I DO like to wear bows, and jewelry when im out of the house, because it just looks good in my blue hair ;D.
I try to center my outfits around two different icons, Elmo, and Jack from Nightmare before Christmas. Some people believe that to be “scene” you need to LOVE Hello Kitty, which I do, but thats not really all that true.
I bought some big glasses for that sexy-nerdy look, and i think that looks great in pictures, so thats a plus.
I dont like when scene kids T@lk L!k3 D!$, because it puts a bad shadow over the scene kids who talk more like a human being.
Making friends are good for you status, but do NOT be one of those girls who are friends with someone for the popularity. Its not cool, and its just mean. I have all sorts of friends now that I left my town, and i try my best to always be there for them. I’m just happy I found people who trust and like me for who I am..thats the kind of friend you need to be!! 🙂 BTW itssss AH-REH-ULL!! (Ariel) (;

So you want to be a scene queen but don’t know where to start? Well
first you must have confidence. If you don’t back up and get some. It
is common for scenes to have bright hair like pink or blonde or even
black. Do your make up cute and cool make up should play up your eyes
the rest of it should be simple like light pink lips. Dress in your
own style. Do not copy! Make your own signature thing. Be creative. DO
NOT back down because people make fun of you. They are probably
jealous you have the confidence and they don’t. Lastly get onto lots
of social sites and get out and around town take pictures then post
them and get out to events dont just stay on the computer.

My name is Jala` and one thing I can say about myself is that I am a
true original. We all are true originals and it is our destiny to
exude the autheniticity which seperates us from each other. It is our
duty to remain indiviiduals no matter how much we want to follow the
crowd.

I have been bullied for years about the fact that i enjoy
distinguishing myself from others by the way I dress, the way I do my
hair, and the way I behave. The bullying I faced led to two suicide
attempts and two hospitalizations for those attempts due to the
constant bullying negatively affecting me.

Luckily I survived and I remained myselfthrough it all. William
Shakespeare said “Be true to thine ownself.” and that is my motto that
I plan on getting tatooed on myself in the future. I believe everyone
should be free to express themselves the way they’d like to.

Life isn’t about finding yourself it’s about creating yourself. So be
who you want to be and never let anyone change you no matter what. If
you’re bullied don’t let it get you down and don’t let it change you
because you are you for a reason.

I dont think you have to have Teased up hair, or extravagant colors to
be scene. My thought of scene, is pretty simple actually. To create
and raise yourself similar to how an artist would with his painting.
No i don’t mean to make your body a canvas, but to treat yourself with
respect. To be unique and different, to be abstract. To have a colorful
personality, not just colorful hair. There’s always going to be that
one person who wants to put you down. Don’t let it happen, become
immune to the public and what they say about you. You are you, and
Scene is the way to scream “I’m gonna embrace that!”
